With their work in the Imperial College Limb Reconstruction Unit at the North West London Major Trauma Centre, the team at OTL have a depth of experience in the management of complex upper and lower limb trauma reconstruction.

Particular areas of expertise include the management of

• Open fractures
• Bone defects
• Bone infection
• Non-union of fractures
• Post trauma deformity
• Post trauma osteoarthritis

A multidisciplinary approach between the subspecialties of Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery is key to successful outcome.

Our Radiology team have expertise in the imaging (3D CT/ MRI/ angiograms) of complex limb injuries.

In the event of limb reconstruction surgery our anaesthetic team are all regularly involved in the pre, peri and post operative management of these complex cases with experience in regional anaesthesia and multimodal analgesia.

Our partner physiotherapists are experienced in rehabilitating patients following these complex surgeries.

Our aim is to provide complete care in these complex cases, individualising and tailoring treatment on a patient by patient basis, and supporting our patients through a multidisciplinary team approach.
