Robotic Navigated Knee Replacement
Mr Ian Sinha now performs all of his NHS and Private partial and total knee replacements using the Navio Robotic knee system.
The Navio system allows optimal intra-operative planning for the position, alignment and size of the implants in an effort to achieve better early functional results and long term survival of the replacement.
No patients to date have required a blood transfusion after Navio knee surgery performed by Ian (in a traditional knee replacement long metal rods are placed into the canal of the femur and tibia to attach cutting saw guides and these can be associated with more blood loss and potential embolic events).
This particular robotic system does not require a pre-operative CT scan and thus unnecessary radiation exposure is prevented.
