Paediatric Trauma

Mr Ian Sinha is the lead for Paediatric trauma at the North West London Major Trauma Centre. He has experience in the management of upper and lower limb paediatric fractures. A large proportion of paediatric fractures can be managed with simple measures such as plaster casts and splints. A smaller proportion may require surgery. Mr Sinha uses a variety of techniques including plaster casts, hip spica casts, flexible nails, percutaneous k wires, plate fixation and external fixation (including circular frames).

Mr Ian Sinha gained skills in paediatric knee injuries, including paediatric ACL reconstruction, acute patella dislocation repair, repair of osteochondral injuries and intra-articular fractures. He has introduced ACL preservation as a surgical option for acute femoral avulsions of the ACL in children.
